Description
SDF-Sensors for steam are often used wherever flow or heat quantity of superheated or saturated steam need to be measured. They have been proven in the field to be reliable, stable and accurate for more than 35 years.
Due to the robust technology and the simple principle of measurement, SDF-Sensors can be used under difficult conditions and offer considerable advantages over other measuring technology from easy installation to long-term measuring stability.
Additional advantages are the possibilities of bidirectional flow measurement as well as the integration of temperature and pressure measurement to calculate the current operating density. This is supported by the AccuMind® flow computer which can calculate the current steam and heat quantity.
With the FASTLOK version for steam, the SDF-sensor can be inserted or retracted into the pipe without interrupting plant operation. They are available in four different versions including a high-pressure option for pressures up to PN100 (600# ANSI). For ease of insertion and retraction, the FASTLOK version can be equipped with an integral gear drive.
SDF-Sensors for steam offer practical advantages wherever
- a simple, fast and low-cost installation is required,
- an existing pipeline needs to be retrofitted with a flow meter with minimal installation efforts,
- space is limited with short straight pipe runs,
- other flow measuring principles are not suitable due to large pipe sizes, high pressures and/or high temperatures,
- operation of a pipeline cannot be interrupted or shutdown during installation,
- low pressure losses are required for economical or technical reasons.
